WAH Bootcamp in Wimberley, Texas
For anyone checking this page: With God's blessings, I am working toward putting together a WAH Bootcamp (geared toward first-timers) in Wimberley, Texas. I will need about 5-6 men who have been to John's Boot Camp in Colorado (or are deep into John's message) to help me run this thing. Please contact me if you are interest at my contact number /email above. Thanks!

Touched by Awakening the Dead and Checking In
Bootcamp Bunch, I was re-listening to ‘Waking the Dead’ this morning while driving to work today and it really spoke to me. That is not too unusual with books I have been reading and listening to lately, but there seems to be days where something touches me to the core. I went to graduate school for a long time, so I got into the bad habit of not reading anything that was not technical or related to what I was trying to struggle through at school or work. I’m so glad that I started digging into some good literature. I seem to be focused on just a few prolific authors lately, but I have found that what they have in common is intimacy with God and a respect for really good Christian authors through the generations (G Macdonald, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, TA Sparks, etc.) that they quote often. The up and downside is that it gives you an endless supply of good authors to explore. I’m a reformed engineer who now appreciates really good writing. Even fiction that seems to be dripping with God. As John has said many times, all good stories retell our Epic Story of the battle of good and evil). But I digress… I really just wanted to remind everyone to remember to walk with God continuously. You can have a seminary education and be extremely versed in biblical principles, but that will only get you so far. I don’t know about you guys (or y’all for those of you here in Texas), but my life is way too complicated to be guided only Christian principles. Without the intimate counsel of God, I would be toast. Discipleship has really moved away from simply walking with God and has come to mean something different indeed. After I got into the office (actually it’s a temporary spot because my real office is shut down with most of NASA this week), I read through Morgan Snyder’s blog for today: www. becomegoodsoil .com /intimacy-in-the-fast-lane/ {can't post the real link in the review} Good stuff and I can definitely relate. One change I made about six months ago was to stop listening the talk radio in the car and switched to listening to audiobooks. Probably about half dozen books by Frank Viola and about the same from John. I even have to temper that because even though these works are fantastic and I feel I am growing spiritually and digging deeper, I find that it sometimes takes the place of spending time with God and listening to Him. Anyone hear from Aaron? He’s been quiet. God bless, Tom.

'Walking with God' audiobook is exaclty what I needed this week
Just a quick note to you guys today to battle against apathy and the common tendency for we American men to put off basic communications and allow most non-work or family relationships to wither away. The last few weeks have been so crazy that even taking a few minutes to write an email has been a struggle. I have found a little trouble in balancing taking time to read/listen/and watch useful tools for my transformation with simply spending time alone with God. Lera and I only have a session or two of the bootcamp videos left to watch and they have been fantastic. Before too long, I’ll probably try to get some guys together to go through them again (heads up Houston brothers). That’s not really why I am writing today though. I have been going through the “Walking with God” audiobook on the way to and from work the last few weeks and it has been exactly what I have needed in the midst of the battles I have found myself in post-bootcamp. I know we all struggle with a spirit of business in lives today, but if anyone has experienced the obvious onslaught battles and distraction in the last few weeks, you might want to consider a few books like this to remind yourself that you are not crazy. Once you know the Truth, there is really no way to pull the covers back over your head and slip back to ignorance. The awesome news is that there is nothing the enemy or the world can do to crush you if you remain in Him. Things are looking better for me, but it is quite predicable that the closer I lean into God, the more the attacks will come. Take care all, Tom.
