Wild at Heart BASIC
February 21, 2019 to February 24, 2019
Marble Falls, TX United States
Hosted by Isaiah 61 Search, Rescue and Restoration Team

What is BASIC?

Wild at Heart BASIC is Wild at Heart Boot Camp led by John Eldredge and his team through video session in your local area.

Why do I need BASIC?

A man needs a deeper understanding of his masculine heart—and why God made him just like that. What if those deep desires in our hearts are telling us the truth, revealing to us the lives we were meant to live? A man must know he is powerful; he must know he has what it takes. The way we handle the heart is everything. Basic is not a retreat about the “seven things a man ought to do to be a nicer guy.” It is a four-day quest into the recovery of a man’s masculine soul, the release of a man’s heart—his passions and his true nature—all given him by God.

Event Description

Wild at Heart Boot Camp is not just another men's retreat. That's the last thing any man needs. The reason most messages for men ultimately fail is simple: they ignore what is deep and true to a man's heart and try to shape him up through pressure and various forms of compliance.

Not this. This weekend is an honest, no bs trek into the deep passions and desires of a man's heart, into the healing of the wounds he's taken in this battle, into the realm of fatherhood and sex and God and calling – life as it was meant to be lived. Through the sessions, the times of quiet reflection, the movies, the adventures and the downtime, you will discover something profound about the heart of God and the heart he gave you as a man. Those who come say it is one of the greatest weekends of their entire life.

Peniel:

Peniel (the face of God) is mentioned in Jacob's story of wrestling with God until daybreak:

Jacob Wrestles
So Jacob was left alone, and a Man [came and] wrestled with him until daybreak. When the Man saw that He had not prevailed against Jacob, He touched his hip joint; and Jacob’s hip was dislocated as he wrestled with Him. Then He said, “Let Me go, for day is breaking.” But Jacob said, “I will not let You go unless You declare a blessing on me.” So He asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed.” Then Jacob asked Him, “Please tell me Your name.” But He said, “Why is it that you ask My name?” And He declared a blessing [of the covenant promises] on Jacob there. So Jacob named the place Peniel (the face of God), saying, “For I have seen God face to face, yet my life has not been snatched away.” Genesis 32:24-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)
