The setting of Bear Trap Ranch is fabulous. It is nestled in a forested valley with mountain peaks surrounding this gorgeous piece of property. It's log cabins and lodges are perfect for the mountainous setting. The food is a definite highlight! The homemade bread and dessert are delicious and the their homemade granola is absolutely incredible! And I better mention the huge meatballs they made for supper - WOW. I also love the hiking, the rappelling and the rock climbing. The mountainous setting and stillness of the place is very restorative for my heart!!! I love that place!

I have been to Bear Trap Ranch many times. Despite the short drive, it is truly refreshing to feel the isolation that the Rocky Mountains can offer when arriving at the rustic camp that is nestled amongst the peaks. Even hearing just a brief account of the history of the camp makes me hope that the layout and buildings will be minimally changed as some of the original buildings have been standing for nearly a century. When staying there, I have felt secure and comfortable staying within the stalwart log structures that have stood a substantial test of time. The creek that flows through the middle of the camp is another example of the natural beauty of the area that Bear Trap Ranch is centered within. Summer or Winter, the log cabins, library, bunk houses, and mess hall accentuate rather than detract from the beauty around it and when you get to stay there you are blessed to experience the west in a wild form. God has and, I have no doubt, will continue to use Bear Trap Ranch to bless people, families and friends with a retreat like no other. I hope to one day return.

A very special place where God's wonder is in abundance. The daily cacophany dissapates and you can feel the strength of worship and prayer.

There are places on the earth where I believe heaven and earth become just a little bit closer, or maybe the noise and the distractions fade away and we just become truly aware of how close heaven is, and it seems much easier to listen for our Father's voice, to see His goodness, and just revel in His closeness. Bear Trap Ranch is one of those places for me and my family. I will always cherish my moments there! Can't wait to get back again.

Best location of any retreat center I've ever been to. Nice rustic buildings so it doesn't feel like you're in just some hotel. Great staff. Good place to get away from everything.

This is an amazing piece of property in Pikes National Forest just 30 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs. So, close and yet total backcountry. A great retreat center with some awesome rock climbing/rappelling and 10,000 foot peaks to climb!
